About Me - I am originally from the East Coast. I received two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Arabic (primarily in Modern Standard Arabic/MSA) and the other in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University (MSU). After graduation, I moved to the West Coast to complete my Master’s degree in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies with Arabic as my language of concentration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS).

While at MSU, I studied abroad in Amman, Jordan where I completed my Junior year of Arabic credits while also studying the Jordanian dialect (Shami/Levantine), Arabic media, Arabic music, culture, and dance. I also learned how to cook popular Jordanian/Middle Eastern meals!

While at MIIS, I had the grand honor of being a Department of State (DoS) Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) awardee. The DoS sent me to Tangier, Morocco where I continued to study MSA as well as the Moroccan dialect (Darija). I also learned about the Moroccan, Amazigh, Arab, and North African culture, which included Moroccan cooking, Moroccan and Arab music, and even a little calligraphy.

Throughout my studies, I have taken courses in Classical Arabic, Arabic poetry, Arabic geopolitics and history, Women Leadership and Activism in the Arab World, and so much more. I would love to help you find/cultivate your passion for the Arabic language given my studies and time abroad anyway I can!

In my spare time, I love to bake, read, travel, and of course, study other foreign languages!
